Dept.56 "Bishops Oast House" Dickens Village #55670/Retired
Department 56 Heritage Village Collection
"Bishop's Oast House"
Original Box #55670
The architecture is breathtaking and will be a "stand-out" piece in your display. Issued 1990 and retired in 1992.
"Bishop" refers to a surname, not a religious figure! Oast houses are found in the Kent countryside and many have been converted into private homes. The two large round cobblestone "oasts" attached to the back contain a kiln for drying malt which then can produce ale. The finish is white with a fine coat of "stucco" like over brick making the coloring very pretty to the eye!!
The photos can't capture the incredible detail on all sides of this impressive piece. Approximate Dimensions: 6.6" x 6.5" x 7.5".
