The Fifth Avenue brand name for Dorset compacts is likely to date from the post-war years until the early 1950s. In 1951 Dorset and Rex were joined. The Dorset-Rex Fifth Avenue brand became known in the States for mixed metal and also Lucite (Perspex) handbags, which are now highly collectable.
