This collection of EIGHT puppets are German hand puppets, belonging to the Kasperle tradition, which is similar to the British Punch and Judy shows.  They feature molded plastic or rubber heads with hand-painted details and sewn cloth bodies. 

 These types of puppets, often referred to as glove puppets, are controlled by the puppeteer's hand fitting inside, with fingers manipulating the head and arms to bring the characters to life for storytelling or theatrical performances.
